Pirr Reserva White 2023
Grown in the vineyards of Alentejo, our wine is a tribute to its distinctive terroir – a landscape shaped by sun, wind, and the Atlantic’s cool fresh currents. It is a place where time seems to linger, and the harmony of nature sensed. The inspiration from this tranquility has driven our craft, resulting in wines like this – fragrant, vibrant, with fresh citrus notes that unfold into the intensity of peach and apricot. It is wine that honours the land.
Winemaking
The grapes were carefully handpicked in 22 kg crates and subjected to a rigorous sorting-table process upon arrival at the winery. After complete de-stemming and gentle crushing, the must was transferred to pre-fermentation maceration tanks, allowing for greater aroma and flavor extraction before pressing. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 14°C, preserving the freshness of the fruit and allowing for a vibrant expression of the aromatic profile. Following alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation, imparting a smoother, rounder texture, enhancing complexity, and softening the flavour profile.
Aging
100% in French oak barrels for 12 months, enhancing the wine’s complexity with notes of vanilla and spices.
Tasting Notes
Produced from a meticulous selection of grapes from our vineyards at Herdade dos Toucinhos, this wine displays remarkable aromatic concentration. It presents a pale golden hue, with a fresh, inviting profile that combines subtle buttery notes with hints of ripe peach, apricot, and delicate undertones. On the taste, the wine reveals crisp, zesty flavors, balanced by a light, steely texture and smooth, well-defined structure. The clean, refreshing acidity leads to a long, elegant finish.
Extremely versatile, this wine’s elegance makes it an ideal pairing for a wide
variety of dishes, including all types of fish, seafood, and meat, whether in
